What My Next Coffee does with your information
Last updated 19 August 2026
Who holds your information
If you reached My Next Coffee through your school or programme, that institution decides what the platform is used for, and its own privacy notice governs that relationship. We hold and process the information described here in order to provide the service to them and to you.
If you signed up directly, without an institution, we hold your information on our own account.
What we collect
Account and profile. Your name, email address and profile photo. Your programme, school, graduation month, industry, years of experience, and your answers about work authorisation and availability. Those eligibility questions exist so you are not asked them on every application.
Documents you upload. Resumes and CVs, and any other file you attach. We keep the file itself and text extracted from it.
Identity verification, if you use it. Verification is optional. If you start it, you upload a photo of a government identity document and take a live selfie. These are stored privately and are viewed only by platform administrators carrying out the review. They are the most sensitive information we hold, and they are not shared with your school, with advisors, or with employers.
A LinkedIn profile, if you import one. When you paste a LinkedIn URL and ask us to import it, we retrieve the public profile at that address and copy the fields it contains into your profile.
What you write and do here. Conversations with advisors and with our AI features, notes you keep about your own networking conversations, applications you make, jobs you save, appointments you book, and events you register for.
Technical records. Sign-in sessions, and product analytics recorded against your user id. When a job link is clicked we record the click; the IP address is stored only as an irreversible hash, so it counts the click without identifying the address.
How AI features use your information
Resume review, resume tailoring, job-fit answers, interview practice and the advisor chat all work by sending the relevant text to a model provider and returning what it produces. That text can include your resume, your profile, and the question you asked.
The platform also keeps a short written summary of your background, regenerated when you upload a resume, import LinkedIn or edit your profile. Advisors can read it, and job matching uses it, so that you do not have to repeat your situation every time. You can view, edit or clear it on your profile.
AI output is generated text. It can be wrong, and it is not professional careers, legal or immigration advice.
What you can do
See and change it. Your profile page shows what we hold about you and lets you edit it, replace or remove your photo, and view, edit or clear your background summary.
Skip what you would rather not give. Identity verification is optional. So are the eligibility questions, the LinkedIn import, and your photo.
Delete it. You can delete your account from your profile page. That removes your profile, conversations, advice history and uploaded documents. Where your institution is required to keep a record of a booking or an application, that record may survive in their own systems.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your information: to obtain a copy, to correct it, or to object to particular uses. Write to us and we will act on it.
How it is protected
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Uploaded files are stored in private storage, not on public URLs that can be guessed. Access to identity documents is limited to the administrators who perform verification. Passwords are stored hashed, never in a form we can read.
No system is perfect. If we discover a breach affecting your information we will tell you and whoever else the law requires.
Getting in touch
For anything about this notice, or to make a request about your information, email privacy@mynextcoffee.live.
If you use My Next Coffee through your school, its own privacy office can also help, and may be the faster route for anything about how your institution uses the platform.
Changes
When this notice changes we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with your information, we will tell you in the product rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
