Terms
The terms for using My Next Coffee
Last updated 7 September 2026
Who these terms are between
These terms are an agreement between you and My Next Coffee about how you use the platform. They sit alongside the privacy notice, which explains what happens to your information.
If you reached My Next Coffee through your school or programme, that institution has its own agreement with us and its own rules for students. Where those rules are stricter than these terms, follow the institution. Where these terms cover something the institution does not, these terms apply.
If you signed up directly, without an institution, these terms are the whole agreement between you and us.
Your account
My Next Coffee is built for students and early-career professionals, and for the advisors and staff who support them. An account is for one person. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, tell us if you think someone else has used your account, and keep the information on your profile accurate. What happens under your account is your responsibility until you tell us otherwise.
Advisors and institution staff get additional access to student information in order to do their jobs. Using that access for any other purpose is a breach of these terms and, usually, of the institution's own rules as well.
What you can and cannot do
Use the platform for what it is for: finding roles, preparing for them, getting advice, and meeting the people who can help. In particular, do not:
- Upload a document, photo or identity document that is not yours, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Try to see, change or download another person's information, or to get around access controls, rate limits or other protections.
- Run scrapers, bots or automated tools against the platform, or copy job listings, events or people's details out of it in bulk.
- Harass, threaten or mislead advisors, other students, employers or the people the platform suggests you contact.
- Misrepresent who you are or what you have done on an application or a profile, or submit an application on someone else's behalf without their permission.
- Use the platform for anything unlawful, or in a way that interferes with other people's use of it.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately rather than exploiting or publicising it. The address is below.
Your content
Your resumes, documents, messages, notes, recordings and profile details remain yours. So that the platform can work, you allow us to store them, process them, and show them to the people you direct them to: the advisors you talk to, and the employer or hiring manager for a role you apply to. We do not use your content for anything the privacy notice does not describe.
Some features send the relevant text to an AI model provider to generate feedback or answers. The privacy notice names those providers and what they receive. You can skip any AI feature and still use the rest of the platform.
You can edit or remove most of your content from your profile, and you can delete your account entirely. Where your institution is required to keep a record of a booking or an application, that record may survive in their systems.
AI features
Resume feedback, tailored resumes, job-fit answers, interview practice and the advisor chat all produce generated text. It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and it is not careers, legal, financial or immigration advice. Read anything the platform drafts before you send it to an employer or rely on it. What you submit is yours, whoever helped write it.
Some advisors on the platform are AI personas rather than people. They are labelled as such. A message to a human advisor is read and answered by that person.
Jobs, events and people
Job listings and events come from employers' own career pages, public job boards and event sites, and feeds your institution provides. We check what we can, but we do not promise that a listing is current, accurate or still open, or that applying will lead to an interview or an offer. When you follow a link to an employer or event site, that site's own terms take over.
When the platform suggests people you might talk to, it is suggesting a conversation, not making an introduction on your behalf. Approach them as you would want to be approached, and respect a no.
Advisors
Human advisors are staff or volunteers connected to your institution, or people we have invited onto the public platform. Their advice is their own professional judgement, offered in good faith. It is guidance, not a guarantee, and decisions about your applications and your career stay with you.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the platform available and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Features change, and some are withdrawn. If a change materially affects how you use the platform, we will say so in the product before or when it happens.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using My Next Coffee at any time, and you can delete your account from your profile page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or their information at risk, or has been inactive for a long time; where we can, we will tell you first and say why.
If your institution's arrangement with us ends, we will tell you what happens to your account before it affects you.
Disclaimers and limits
The platform is provided as it is and as it is available. To the extent the law allows, My Next Coffee is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it, or from information provided by employers, event organisers, advisors or AI features. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be excluded.
Getting in touch
For anything about these terms, email privacy@mynextcoffee.live. If you use My Next Coffee through your school, its career centre can also help with questions about how the institution uses the platform.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change we update the date at the top. If a change is material, we will tell you in the product rather than relying on you to re-read this page. Continuing to use the platform after a change means the new terms apply.
